“The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in” (Psalm 121:7-8, NKJV). Going out and coming in covers the entire rhythm of daily life, not just the dramatic moments, but the ordinary comings and goings too.
This preservation isn’t described as occasional or selective. It covers the whole of life, all evil, your very soul, every departure and every return.
It’s worth noticing how much of daily life feels too mundane to bring to God in prayer. This verse suggests otherwise, that even the ordinary comings and goings are under His preserving care.
