“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things” (Matthew 25:21, NKJV). Notice what’s being praised here. Not extraordinary achievement, but faithfulness, specifically over a few things.
That’s an encouraging standard for anyone whose current responsibilities feel small or unnoticed. Faithfulness over a few things is exactly what this commendation is looking for.
The promotion to more, ruler over many things, comes after the faithfulness, not instead of it. There’s no shortcut around proving trustworthy with what’s small first.
What few things are currently in front of you that deserve real faithfulness, regardless of how small or unnoticed they might feel right now?
