You Did It to Me | Matthew 25:40

“Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me” (Matthew 25:40, NKJV). Jesus draws a direct line here between the least, the overlooked and easily dismissed, and Himself.

That’s a striking claim. Care extended to someone with nothing to offer in return isn’t described as a lesser act of charity, it’s described as done directly to Jesus.

This reframes how we might think about who’s worth our attention. The least of these isn’t a category to feel obligated toward, it’s where Jesus Himself is found.

Who in your life currently fits this description, the least of these, that this verse invites you to see as an encounter with Jesus Himself?

Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant | Matthew 25:21

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things” (Matthew 25:21, NKJV). Notice what’s being praised here. Not extraordinary achievement, but faithfulness, specifically over a few things.

That’s an encouraging standard for anyone whose current responsibilities feel small or unnoticed. Faithfulness over a few things is exactly what this commendation is looking for.

The promotion to more, ruler over many things, comes after the faithfulness, not instead of it. There’s no shortcut around proving trustworthy with what’s small first.

What few things are currently in front of you that deserve real faithfulness, regardless of how small or unnoticed they might feel right now?
