Let Him Be Your Servant | Matthew 20:26

“Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant” (Matthew 20:26, NKJV). This is about as direct a reversal of normal ambition as Scripture offers. Greatness, in Jesus’ terms, runs through service, not status.

Most paths to greatness we’re familiar with run the other direction, climb, accumulate, be served rather than serve. Jesus flips the entire model.

This isn’t a call to have no ambition. It’s a call to redirect it, measuring greatness by how well you serve rather than how well you’re served.

Where is there room today to pursue greatness Jesus’ way, through service, rather than the way ambition usually points?
