In the Morning I Will Look Up | Psalm 5:3

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up” (Psalm 5:3, NKJV). David makes morning prayer a deliberate practice here, not an afterthought squeezed in whenever time allows.

Direct it to You suggests intention. Not a vague, half-formed thought tossed toward heaven, but a voice purposefully aimed.

And I will look up is a small phrase worth noticing. Before the day’s demands pull his eyes downward and outward, David chooses to look up first.

What would it look like tomorrow morning to direct your voice to God before anything else pulls your attention elsewhere?
