Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness | Psalm 96:9

“Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth” (Psalm 96:9, NKJV). Beauty and trembling are paired together here, worship that’s both drawn in by wonder and genuinely humbled by reverence.

That combination is worth noticing. Worship isn’t only comfortable admiration. It includes a real awareness of who we’re actually approaching.

All the earth widens this call past any single group. This isn’t a private devotional moment alone, it’s an invitation extended everywhere.

As this new month opens, what would worship that holds both beauty and reverent trembling actually look like for you today?

  • He Has Done Marvelous Things | Psalm 98:1

He Has Done Marvelous Things | Psalm 98:1

“Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things” (Psalm 98:1, NKJV). A new song responds to something specific, marvelous things actually done, not just a vague sense that praise is generally appropriate.

That specificity matters. Praise that’s rooted in actual, named things God has done tends to carry more weight than a general, undirected gratitude.

As this month opens, it’s worth naming something concrete rather than defaulting to a generic thank you. What marvelous thing has God actually done recently that deserves its own new song?

Whatever it is, let it be specific enough to sing about, not just vague enough to nod along with.
