“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me” (Acts 1:8, NKJV). This power isn’t given for its own sake. It’s given for a specific purpose: becoming witnesses.
That distinction matters. It’s easy to want spiritual power as a personal experience without connecting it to the outward mission it’s actually meant to fuel.
Witnesses simply testify to what they’ve seen and experienced. This isn’t a call to elaborate theological argument, just honest testimony backed by the Spirit’s power.
What would it look like to actually witness to what you’ve experienced of God this week, trusting the Spirit’s power rather than your own persuasive ability?
