Genesis opens with God as Creator, and Scripture is clear that we’re made in His image, creativity included. It doesn’t require a studio or a stage. Here are three simple ways to put that creativity to work this week.
1. Solve a problem in a way nobody expects
Creativity isn’t only painting and music. It’s also the way you tackle an ordinary problem at work, at home, or in your community. Look for one thing this week that’s been solved the same tired way for years, and bring a fresh idea to it instead.
2. Make something with your hands
Whether it’s cooking a meal from scratch, writing a letter, building something in the garage, or arranging flowers on the table, making something tangible connects you to the same creative impulse that shaped the world in Genesis 1. Set aside even thirty minutes this week to make something, not consume something.
3. Bring beauty into an overlooked space
A cluttered desk, a bare wall, a plain meal that could use a little more care, small acts of beauty in overlooked places are a quiet way of reflecting God’s own attention to detail. Pick one space this week that nobody would notice, and make it a little more beautiful anyway.
