The Lord Weighs the Heart | Proverbs 21:2

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts” (Proverbs 21:2, NKJV). This verse names something uncomfortable but true: we’re remarkably good at justifying our own choices to ourselves.

It’s rare to feel genuinely wrong in the moment. Most decisions, even bad ones, feel reasonable, even righteous, from the inside. That’s exactly why this verse matters.

God’s evaluation doesn’t run on our internal sense of being right. He weighs the heart itself, motives and all, in a way our own self-assessment can’t fully see.

This is a good check for any decision that feels obviously justified to you right now. Feeling right and being right aren’t automatically the same thing.
