“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, NKJV). This verse holds two things together that can feel like they’re in tension: God’s timing being good, and our own hearts longing for something beyond what time can offer.
It’s an honest observation. We’re wired with a sense that there’s more than what we can see and measure, more than this current season, more than this current life.
That longing can feel unsettling if we don’t know what to do with it. Ecclesiastes doesn’t resolve the tension neatly, but it names it honestly: beauty in its time, and eternity in the heart, both at once.
