“He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber” (Psalm 121:3, NKJV). Will not slumber describes a watchfulness that never lapses, not even for a brief moment of inattention.
That’s a comforting thought for anyone who’s ever felt like they had to stay constantly vigilant themselves, afraid that letting their guard down would leave them exposed.
This verse suggests a different arrangement, one where God’s watchfulness doesn’t depend on your own constant alertness, since His never lapses in the first place.
Where have you been trying to stay constantly vigilant on your own, in a way this verse suggests you could actually release to the God who never slumbers?
