“Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren” (Nehemiah 4:14, NKJV). This instruction comes as Nehemiah’s workers faced real threats while rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, discouraged and afraid.
Remembering the Lord isn’t presented as an alternative to action. It’s paired directly with fighting for others, courage rooted in a clear view of who God is.
This is a good pattern for facing any real opposition, anchoring first in who God is, then moving into courageous action on behalf of others, not just self-protection.
What opposition are you currently facing that requires both remembering God’s greatness and taking courageous action for the sake of others?
