“In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other” (Ecclesiastes 7:14, NKJV). Both prosperity and adversity get named here as appointed, not accidental.
That’s a different way to hold hard seasons than treating them purely as bad luck or a broken plan. Both the good day and the hard one belong to a larger appointment we don’t fully see.
Notice the different responses called for. Joy in prosperity. Consideration, thoughtful reflection, in adversity. Neither season is meant to be experienced the same way.
