“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich” (Proverbs 13:4, NKJV). Desire alone produces nothing here. Both the lazy and the diligent might want the same thing, but only one actually acts on it.
This is a useful distinction for anyone who confuses wanting something with actually working toward it. Wanting doesn’t substitute for diligence.
Made rich isn’t only about money. It applies to any area where consistent effort compounds into genuine growth over time.
Where have you been desiring an outcome without matching it with the diligence this verse says is actually required?
