“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV). This verse names what hasn’t been given, a spirit of fear, alongside what actually has: power, love, and a sound mind.
That contrast is worth sitting with. Fear that feels like a settled identity isn’t actually what God has handed us. Something entirely different has been given instead.
Power, love, and a sound mind are worth taking individually. Strength for what’s ahead, genuine care for others, and clear thinking rather than anxious confusion.
