“For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights” (Proverbs 3:12, NKJV). Correction here isn’t framed as rejection. It’s framed as evidence of delight and genuine love.
That reframing matters for how correction, from God or from others, actually lands. Received as rejection, it wounds. Received as this verse frames it, it can actually build up.
The father image is worth noticing. Good correction isn’t harsh or humiliating. It flows from delight in the one being corrected, not disappointment in them.
What correction have you recently received that this verse invites you to receive as evidence of love, rather than rejection?
