“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20, NKJV). Joseph says this to the brothers who sold him into slavery years earlier, after God had used that very betrayal to position Joseph to save many lives.
Notice Joseph doesn’t minimize the evil. He names it plainly, you meant evil against me, before pointing to what God did within and despite it.
This isn’t a shallow claim that everything happens for a tidy reason. It’s a specific testimony, looking back on real harm and recognizing God’s redemptive work woven through it.
Is there harm in your own story that you could name honestly, the way Joseph did, while still watching for how God might be working good through it?
