“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10, NKJV). Notice what comes first in this model prayer. Not personal requests, but God’s name, God’s kingdom, God’s will.
That order is instructive. Before we ask for anything for ourselves, this prayer orients us toward what matters most, His name being honored, His kingdom advancing, His will being done.
On earth as it is in heaven is a bold request, that ordinary, earthly life would actually reflect heaven’s order, not a distant hope reserved for someday.
Before your next prayer request today, try starting here instead, His name, His kingdom, His will, and see how that reorders what you ask for next.
