“How lovely is Your tabernacle, O LORD of hosts!” (Psalm 84:1, NKJV). This is a simple exclamation of delight, not a theological argument, just genuine appreciation for being near to where God dwells.
Lovely is a word we don’t often use in worship language, but it fits here. There’s real pleasure described in this verse, not just duty or obligation.
It’s worth asking whether your own experience of God’s presence carries any of this delight, or whether it’s become more routine than lovely.
What would it take to recover some genuine delight in God’s presence today, the kind this verse describes rather than mere habit?
