“I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8, NKJV). Set is an active, deliberate verb. This isn’t an accidental awareness of God, it’s a chosen, ongoing focus.
The stability described, I shall not be moved, follows directly from that deliberate focus. It’s not natural resilience, it’s the fruit of keeping God intentionally in view.
This is worth checking honestly. Is God something you’ve deliberately set before you, or something that occasionally crosses your mind amid everything else?
What would it look like today to deliberately set the Lord before you, rather than letting Him simply be one consideration among many?
