My Words Will Not Pass Away | Matthew 24:35

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35, NKJV). Everything else described here, heaven and earth, the most permanent-seeming things imaginable, is described as passing away. Jesus’ words are the one exception.

That’s a bold claim, and it reorients where lasting confidence should actually be placed. Not in anything visible or seemingly permanent, but in what Jesus has actually said.

It’s worth noticing how much weight we put on things that, according to this verse, are already on their way to passing away, status, comfort, circumstances.

What are you currently building your confidence on that this verse says won’t ultimately last, compared to the words that will?
