I Waited Patiently | Psalm 40:1

“I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1, NKJV). Patient waiting isn’t passive resignation in this verse. It’s active trust that eventually meets an actual response.

He inclined to me is a tender image, God leaning in, paying close attention, not distant or unmoved by the waiting.

This verse doesn’t promise an immediate answer. It describes a process, patient waiting followed eventually by God’s attentive response.

If you’re in a season of waiting right now, this verse doesn’t promise the wait will be short. It promises God is inclined toward you, listening, even in the waiting itself.
