“As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12, NKJV). East and west never meet, no matter how far you travel in either direction. That’s the picture this verse uses for forgiveness.
This isn’t partial forgiveness, or forgiveness held at arm’s length for future reference. It’s a complete, immeasurable removal.
It’s worth noticing when we’ve forgiven ourselves less completely than this verse says God already has. If He’s removed it this far, why are we still carrying it nearby?
